18h00 to 18h20 Adérito Vicente is a nuclear-policy scholar who holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence. He is currently Assistant Professor of International Relations and an Integrated Researcher at the Centre for Legal, Economic, International and Environmental Studies (CEJEIA) at Lusíada University in Porto. He also serves as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Odesa Center for Nonproliferation at I.I. Mechnikov National University of Odesa, an Associate Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI-NOVA), and an External Researcher at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in Brussels. Previously, he held academic appointments as Adjunct Professor in the EU Policy Studies MA program at James Madison University in Florence, Visiting Scholar at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, and Research Associate at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies in Florence. He has also worked in professional and diplomatic roles at the European Parliament, NATO, the European External Action Service, and the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Division of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His scholarly work has been published in Springer books, the Nonproliferation Review, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, and reports and policy papers by the Fondation pour la recherche stratégique and Istituto Affari Internazionali, focusing primarily on nuclear politics and European security. |
